Dr Kieran Connell is a leading historian of post-war Britain, and has particular expertise in the histories of immigration, multiculturalism and popular culture based in the School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics.

Dr Connell is a leading historian of post-war Britain, and has particular expertise in the histories of immigration, multiculturalism and popular culture.  He has curated three major public exhibitions, and has featured as an expert contributor on BBC radio, television and across the printed press.  His first book, a study of the ‘Windrush generation’ and their children in the context of 1980s Britain, was published by the University of California Press in 2019.
