Murchana Kaushik on studying at QUB
First Year PhD student from the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work
I am a postgraduate researcher in Sociology at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB). Being one of the premier Russell Group institutions, QUB is surely a priority for those planning for higher studies in the United Kingdom. My desire to pursue my PhD at QUB has been facilitated by a scholarship provided by the Government of India, under an MOA signed between QUB and Tezpur University in Assam, India. It allows me to concentrate on my research, while being financially secured. QUB not only provides an excellent environment for research, required infrastructure and amenities, state of the art accommodation facilities for students, global exposure, but also provides a robust platform which encourages students to enjoy a bustling life on campus. The Students’ Union, the Graduate School, Queen’s Film Theatre, Junction, The Treehouse at Elms Village and the weekend trips organized for students by the QUB accommodation are just a few examples of the many platforms that QUB provides for it’s students to connect, express, rejuvenate and just be! Being at QUB offers one the opportunity to not only explore the beautiful country of Northern Ireland, but also to know and connect with the friendly and welcoming people of the country.
