Queen’s hosts global delegates for ‘One Young World’ Dinner
Queen’s University Belfast hosted a special event as part of the 2023 ‘One Young World’ Summit- a global summit for young leaders which is being held in venues across Belfast this week.
300 young leaders from across the world attended the ‘Dine-Around’ event on Wednesday 4 October in Queen’s state-of-the-art Student Centre and Students’ Union at One Elmwood.
The annual One Young World Summit brings together young leaders from over 190 countries. The Delegates participate in four days of speeches, workshops, and networking, and hear from influential political, business, and humanitarian leaders including President Mary Robinson, Didier Drogba and Professor Muhammad Yunus.
Following the Summit, the Delegates will graduate as One Young World Ambassadors, and will return home with knowledge and motivation to make a difference to their communities.
At the Queen’s ‘Dine-Around’ event, attendees were treated to local food, an insight into the Agreement 25 Event which was held at Queen’s earlier this year, and the night will finish with a Ceilidh in the brand-new Mandela Hall.
Alistair Stewart, Acting Director of Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility at Queen’s said: “The One Young World Summit brings together young leaders from across the world to not only hear and learn from influential international leaders, but also to network and share ideas with each other.
“As a global university Queen’s is proud to be part of this prestigious summit and to welcome young people from across the world to our new Student Centre and Students’ Union at One Elmwood.”
