The Leverhulme Interdisciplinary Network on Algorithmic Solutions (LINAS) Seminar series is student-led and organised by the doctoral scholars on the programme.
The speakers will be:
Professor Austen Rainer (The School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science)
Title: Human, AI and the creative leap
Abstract: In this short talk, I’ll use a handful of examples – from language, flash fiction and logical paradoxes – to reflect on the (fundamental?) limits of (current?) AI. Time permitting, I’ll then use these examples to frame the opportunity for ethnical co-creativity between human and AI.
Jarlath Warner (The School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) - 2nd year LINAS doctoral scholar
Title: Optimised Tangled Program Graphs for FPGA Synthesis
Samantha Darrah (School of Psychology) - 1st year LINAS doctoral scholar
Title: Algorithm Aversion and Decision Making: An overview of existing research and why hybrid intelligence may be a useful tool
We would love it if as many of you as possible could join us for this seminar. Refreshments will also be provided!
