Mitchell Institute Professor Elected to the Royal Irish Academy
The Mitchell Institute is delighted to announce that Institute Deputy Director Professor Louise Mallinder has been elected a Member of the Royal Irish Academy. An independent, all-island learned society, the RIA each year elects a small number of MRIAs, chosen for their distinguished contributions to scholarship and research in the sciences, humanities, social sciences and public service.
Commenting on her election, Professor Mallinder said:
“I feel extremely honoured to have been elected a member of the Royal Irish Academy. I am looking forward to being part of its community of leading experts from the sciences and humanities and to supporting the Academy in its work to serve the public good through promoting academic research and knowledge.”
Professor Mallinder will be formally admitted to the Academy at a ceremony in Dublin in May.
Institute Director Professor Richard English commented:
'I'm absolutely delighted that Louise's work has been deservedly recognized with this honour. Her research, teaching and commitment to societal engagement have all been superb, and it is excellent to celebrate this latest achievement.'
