Across the world, children and young people in marginalised communities face profound challenges, social exclusion, and limited access to essential support. Experts in Education, Law and Social Work at Queen’s University Belfast is researching ways to address these issues - aiming to change the way lawmakers, social care leaders, and policymakers approach problems faced by children and young people.

Our experts are dedicated to addressing systemic inequality, injustice, and lack of representation that is affecting marginalised and vulnerable children and young people. Their research has informed international safeguarding laws and policies and has had a critical impact on the evolution of children’s rights. Our team at Queen’s University continue to investigate inclusive and progressive ways in which children and young people can be heard, nurtured and protected to ensure a safe, secure future for all.
