Professor Mark Lawler, Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor, Queen's University Belfast and Co-Chair of the European Cancer Organisation’s Covid-19 Network invites you to join him at the launch of the European Code of Practice Wednesday 23 September at 2pm (BST)
Professor Lawler will moderate the launch, which will be attended by the EU Health Commissioner, Stella Kyriakides, and more than 400 delegates from around Europe.
This virtual meeting will launch a brand new tool for empowering citizens and cancer patients with 10 key overarching rights, signposting what cancer patients should expect from their health system. The event will bring you on a virtual tour of Europe with presentations by patients, healthcare professionals and policy-makers on these 10 rights, to ensure the best possible outcomes for our citizens:
Professor Lawler has been leading a team of cancer professionals, cancer patients and patient advocates on this project, which has been endorsed by the European Cancer Organisation and many other professional and patient societies. Professor Lawler explains, “We believe that these 10 rights will inform and assist cancer patients at all stages of their cancer journey, empowering them and their loved ones to ensure the best available care is delivered.”
