Mentor a Student
Mentor a student
Our mentoring programmes are dynamic initiatives connecting accomplished alumni with current students.
By sharing your expertise and experiences, you could play a crucial role in shaping the lives of our students.
MENTORING GOALS
- To provide students with real-world insights into their chosen fields.
- To assist students in setting and achieving academic and career goals.
- To foster a strong sense of community and networking among our alumni and students
Mentor Responsibilities
As an alumni mentor, you will:
- Be paired with a student based on your background, shared interests and career goals.
- Offer guidance on academic and career related issues.
- Share your professional and personal experiences.
- Provide advice on networking opportunities, plus recruitment and selection skills.
- Commit to meet and communicate with your mentee on a regular basis.
- Attend mentor programme events.
Requirements
There are many ways to help. You could be a recent graduate who shares insights into how best to prepare for the transition to working life, or a more experienced alum with extensive knowledge of your industry, who can provide up-to-date sector advice and long-term career guidance.
TIME COMMITMENT
Varies according to the programme, but approximately 1-2 hours a month.
I volunteered to be a mentor as I thought it is something I would have benefited from when I was a law and languages undergraduate with no real idea what I wanted to be or what options were open to me
