‘CED go Green’ Volunteering Day 2017
The Centre for Educational Development (CED) exchanged their time in the office to garden gloves and hedge clippers for a day. The team arranged a volunteering day in the Cats Protection Belfast, helping the employees and volunteers of the charity with a whole array of garden tasks, from weed picking to cutting the hedge.
We met the friendly office cat Aaron, who welcomed us with a cup of tea and some very loud purrs. After the morning of hard work, we went to see the cats, who are waiting for their forever home. The centre is housing around 150 cats at any one time, and walking past the cages and cages of felines really emphasized the importance of adoption, not purchase and adequate population control.
