Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMIC): located at Global Point Business Park Newtownabbey, will provide high quality innovation support to manufacturing and advanced engineering industry. It will bring together world class academic expertise, advanced industrial practice from commercial partners and the specialist facilities needed to execute innovation R&D projects in the target industry sectors, together with supporting research, training, and technical services. Accommodation within the 10,500m2 facility includes:
- Engineering hall
- Clean room and laboratories
- General office accommodation
- Common areas including meeting areas, auditorium, café and collaboration space
The building work is expected to start on site in Spring 2024 and the facility will be operational by Summer 2026.
