If you will be engaging in regulated activity and you are from outside the UK/ROI you are required to source a Certificate of Good Conduct (CoGC) from the embassy of your home country prior to commencing regulated activity.  Details of how to request such checks are available at Criminal records checks for overseas applicants - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) 

Anyone who has lived in any other country for one complete calendar year is required to source a CoGC from the Embassy of the country in which they lived prior to commencing in regulated activity.   

If you lived in a country where criminal record checks cannot be obtained, or you are a refugee with leave to remain in the UK, additional references must be sought and these will be followed up by the University by telephone and letter.
