Service Description
In addition to the main data backup and recovery services managed by Data Operations a supplementary data backup and recovery service based on older technology is provided for datasets stored on computer systems in the Queen’s Data Centres at the request of Data Owners.
Filesystem backups of Linux and Windows servers can be arranged on agreed Daily, Weekly, and Monthly schedules. Tapes from monthly datasets are stored remote from their backup device and retained for one year.
The systems and the hardware needed for providing backup and recovery are located in Queen’s Data Centres where they are monitored and supported by Queen’s IS Department.

The Service is supported from 09:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday, except for Public and agreed Queen’s holidays. Details of which can be found at http://go.qub.ac.uk/holidays.
Outside of Agreed Support Hours, access to the Service may be affected due to system upgrades, maintenance etc.
