Access for staff and students of other academic institutions

SCONUL Access Membership (Band A)

Academic staff and PhD students from participating institutions may apply for membership.

To register, present your SCONUL Approval  Email  and your staff/student card at the Information Desk on the Ground Floor of the McClay Library during Service Desk hours.

Full-time staff, and students registered for a Doctoral or Master’s degree at a participating institution may apply for ALCID Membership to obtain reference only access to the Library.

Advance registration, using the Queen's Library Link Application Form, is required prior to your initial visit.

Student Vacation Access

Students from other higher/further institutions of education, including the Open University, are allowed reference only access to Queen’s Library during the University's Christmas and Summer Vacation dates.

Prospective students scheduled to embark on a degree course may also apply for access during the summer vacation in advance of commencing their studies.

Advance registration, using the Student Vacation Registration Form  is required.

School students

Students under the age of eighteen are not normally admitted to the Library except as part of an organized school visit or when accompanied by an adult who is a member of the Library.
