EZproxy Service Migration to the Cloud

Important Update: EZproxy Service Migration to the Cloud

We are pleased to announce that our EZproxy service migrated to the Cloud on 27th Aug 2024.
EZproxy is an authentication solution that remotely connects you securely to our university eresources - i.e., articles, ejournals and databases - from anywhere, even when you are off-campus.

As part of this migration, the current EZproxy prefix for resources URLs are changing from:
https://queens.ezp1.qub.ac.uk/login?url=
to new EZproxy prefix:
https://qub.idm.oclc.org/login?url=

We will endeavour to automatically redirect your existing bookmarks, saved permalinks, persistent links or stable URLs for a migration period, however, when the former service is retired you need to update these manually.

What do I need to do?

Please update any bookmarks, permalinks or stable URLs you have saved on your device, documents, slides, Canvas, reading lists or teaching materials to include the new EZproxy prefix https://qub.idm.oclc.org/login?url=
You can also contact your Subject Librarian if you need advice on how to do this.

Permalinks from Library Search that look like this:
https://qub.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/44QSUB_INST/1srh3fv/alma991008515974908046
are unaffected and will continue to work.

If you currently have QUB Library Proxy (EZproxy Bookmarklet) installed in your browser, please remove this extension and reinstall our new version of QUB Library Proxy (EZproxy Bookmarklet).

Our dedicated project team, which includes members from various areas of The Library, is overseeing the migration.

We do not anticipate any downtime or disruption to resource access.

Thank you.
