The Young Archaeologists' Club (YAC) is a UK-wide organisation for young people up to the age of 17 years who have, or want to develop, an interest in archaeology and heritage. The Belfast YAC Branch is run by a group of staff and students from Archaeology and Palaeoecology, School of Natural and Built Environment, Queen's University Belfast. The Club meets on the second Saturday of each month (except July and August). Each session has a theme and either starts with a lecture before moving on to practical activities or takes place out on site. Volunteering with the YAC is very rewarding and provides the opportunity to gain experience of working with children on a range of interesting activities related to the past. You do not have to be undertaking a degree in archaeology to become an Assistant Leader and we welcome applicants from all disciplines.
