The “Carers Achieving Resilience in Education (C.A.R.E.)” programme aims to support student carers, both undergraduate and postgraduate, within the Faculty of Medicine, Health, and Life Sciences. The C.A.R.E. programme involves the delivery of four workshops to support students with caring responsibilities to balance responsibilities and self-care, develop academic and IT skills, build a support network, and plan for future career paths.
The C.A.R.E. programme aims to support student carers by:
- Recognising the diversity of caring roles and encouraging self-care
- Sharing best practice in developing academic and IT skills
- Developing a supportive community amongst session participants
- Devising a career plan that is tailored to their goals and responsibilities.
