InnovateHer is a unique extra-curricular enterprise support programme for female students to encourage entrepreneurial thinking. The programme seeks to bring female QUB students together over a course of 12 sessions where they will work in cross disciplinary teams to develop viable business ideas and business model canvases. The students will have the opportunity to meet and network with a number of successful female entrepreneurs and business women and learn from their business experiences. Two site visits to local businesses will also be incorporated in the programme as well as workshops taking place in external organizations for example, Entrepreneurial Spark and PwC. The students will have the opportunity to learn from and network with professionals from marketing, finance, intellectual property, idea generation and business planning and development. This programme gives students the opportunity to develop their skills in creative thinking, presentation, teamwork, business expertise and business pitch. The programme focuses on development of personal skills. entrepreneurship. The programme culminates in a business pitch to a panel of judges with four prizes including for the best business idea and best business pitch. The key objectives of the ‘InnovateHer’ programme are as follows:

- Encourage and inspire female students to consider starting their own business as a viable option during their career

- Develop and nurture key transferable skills within this group of students. Skills include presentation, negotiation, creative thinking, persuasion, team work, problem-solving, networking and communication

- Gain essential skills and knowledge for entering the professional world

- Understanding and knowledge of the key areas involved in starting a business such as business planning, marketing, PR, market research, legal issues, finance and innovation
