Peer Mentoring
Activity Overview
Level of StudyUndergraduate, Postgraduate Taught/Masters, Postgraduate Research
Award TypeSingle Route, Combined Route
There are two ways to receive the award using Peer Mentoring:
1. Single Route
Peer Mentor Co-ordinators submit a “pass list” of students who have completed all the agreed Future-Ready Award Single Route requirements for Peer Mentoring.
This requires students to undertake 30+ hours of engagement and completion of all the below tasks:
Task list
- Application / Selection & - 1 hour
- Peer Mentor Training with LDS - 3 hours
- Contact with student peers at Welcome Week and in local student meetings and events - 24 hours
- Completion of a Reflective Report of 500-700 words on their experience of peer mentoring (or a formal reflective talk/presentation to those who are considering becoming peers as part of a School event) - 2 hours
You do not need to make an application yourself if you meet the Single Route requirements.
2. Combined Route
Students who do not meet the above requirements but have completed 10+ hours of engagement can still use Peer Mentoring with one other activity to make a Combined Route application for the award through the Step-by-Step Pathway in MyFuture.
The Combined Route application is the responsibility of the student and they will require an e-mail from their Peer Mentor Co-ordinators confirming their number of hours of engagement with Peer Mentoring.
They will include this in their application as evidence.
