The role of Student Ambassador enables students to develop their communication, organisation, creative, teamwork, interpersonal, leadership and problem-solving skills. They will represent the university, selling and promoting the campus and its benefits, providing information about their personal experience of studying at Queen’s and answering general queries.
Students should use their own experience of student life at Queen’s to support prospective students with their UCAS decisions, encouraging the application to QUB where appropriate. In order to qualify for accreditation, students will need to:
- Apply to attend the Queen’s Ambassador Programme via QWork and, if successful, complete the training which will be held in October.
- Be available when called upon, to undertake paid work, completing activities or a combination of activities from the list below:
- Campus Tour Guide
- Conducting Workshops in Schools
- Create Blogs/ Vlogs/ other Content
- Email and Phone Communications to Applicants
- Induct New Students
- Online Web Chats
- Open Days and Recruitment Events
- Public Speaking and Presentations
- Raise QUB profile in your Home Country
- Social Media Influencer
- Provide a 1,000 word written essay reflecting on the activities they have completed and skills they have learned. Guidance for this essay will be provided.
If you complete 60 hours of work and submit the essay you will be eligible to receive the award through the Single Route. If you do not meet these requirements but complete at least 25 hours of work you can use this activity to make a Combined Route application.
