Sustainability Hackathons (Hacks): The Belfast Agenda
Activity Overview
Level of StudyUndergraduate
Award TypeSingle Route
EEECS seeks to support its students in taking action and furthering sustainable development at both global and local level by exploring responsible use of generative AI and open data. We do so through a mini-series of Sustainability Hackathons, designed around the key priorities of the Belfast Agenda for 2024-28, where open data, problem-solving, creative-thinking, and collaboration are put into practice with the aim of understanding how data, technology and different styles of thinking can help tackle the biggest challenges of our times, whilst considering and mitigating the undesirable consequences that the proposed solutions may pose. Those who join this programme will undertake a mix of self-paced independent learning and the choice of at least one Sustainability hackathon.
