Accidents and ill health ruins lives and can be costly in relation to people and property and can result in court decisions.

 

Risk Assessment is a vital component of Risk Management and is a careful examination of situations and circumstances that could cause harm to people and property. As you have seen above, people including employees have a legal right not to be harmed and risk managers must put reasonable control measures in place to protect people from harm. Risk managers operate at all levels of an organisation and involves assessment of the type of risk, the likelihood of it actually occurring and the potential consequences if the event actually occurs.
