Module B Electronic Resources

Electronic Resources

Besides ebooks and ejournals, libraries subscribe to a wide range of other electronic resources such as databases. These allow you to search for articles inside ejournals and chapters inside ebooks. This is helpful when you want to find literature about a specific topic.

Your university will subscribe to a number of databases which you will be able to access via your university library membership. In addition, there are some good quality electronic resources which are freely available to anyone. You can explore some examples (listed below), to search for books, book chapters, journals and journal articles.

Although every database has its own look and feel, they usually share the same underlying search principles. You will discover how you can use these to make your searches more effective in module C.
