Promoting Your Event
Promoting Your Event
You can effectively raise the profile of your event through the following means:
- Let colleagues in the University know by submitting information for the Staff Round Up to the Communications Office at roundup@qub.ac.uk.
- Submit details of your event to be featured on the www.qub.ac.uk/events. Details on how to list your event can be found here or by emailing eventscalendar@qub.ac.uk
- The central marketing team at Queen's may be able to support you with paid advertising to promote your event. Please fill out this form and a member of the paid marketing Campaigns Team will be in touch to discuss advertising opportunities with you.
- Promote your event on the Plasma screen at the Welcome Centre. Contact Ext.5252 or queens.welcomecentre@qub.ac.uk for more information.
- The Social Media Team have created a social media toolkit to help you promote your event. This includes handy tips, posting ideas and editable artwork. Please click here to start using it for your event.
- The University’s Social Media Team are always looking for interesting stories. These can then be paired with the registration details at the end of the post. This is often a better way to raise awareness of your event as the audience will engage with it on a human-interest level and then share the story with their followers. This will amplify it further than simply posting the registration details on their own. Please contact socialmedia@qub.ac.uk with details for consideration. Please note that not all events will be able to be featured, but all requests will be reviewed equally and selected in line with the current strategy. Things that the team are looking for can be:
- Inspiring human-interest stories
- Events which answer a need for staff / students / public
- Inspiring experts who would be interested in creating a video with the team to talk about timely topics.
- Good photos or videos from events
