Part 1: How can a recruitment company help you get a job?
Panel discussion, 10 am to 11 am.

Our guests work in recruitment agencies specialised in different employment sectors and their role is to identify the perfect candidates to join the companies of their clients. In this panel discussion, they will notably explain how recruitment agencies can help you get a job, how to get your online profile noticed by recruiters, what their clients are looking for in PhD-qualified candidates and types of roles they are recruiting for which could be suitable for you.
This event will start with set questions asked to the guests but you will also have the opportunity to ask questions.
Part 2: The employer's perspective
Mini presentations + Q&A, 11:15 am to 12:15 am.

Our speakers will highlight the types of roles that would be suitable for candidates with a PhD and/or postdoctoral experience in their company, as well as what they are looking for in candidates like you.
Each speaker will first introduce their company and/or role in a very short presentation, then answer your questions.
Part 3: My career as a lecturer

- Dr Yvonne Dombrovski, lecturer in the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences
Yvonne will share with you what she actually does as a lecturer, her journey getting where she is now and how it felt to transition from a postdoc position to an academic one. She will reflect on her own experience to give some advice to those of you interested in following a similar path.
After Yvonne's presentation, there will be time for you to ask her questions.
More on Dr Yvonne Dombrowski:
Yvonne is a lecturer in the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences. Her research group focuses on understanding the immune mechanisms behind inflammation and tissue repair, notably in the central nervous system and the lung. Yvonne comes from Germany, where she completed a PhD in tumour immunology. She was a postdoc for five years, in Germany and Queen’s University Belfast, and was then awarded a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship to develop her own research interests, before becoming a lecturer in 2016. Yvonne has published her work in high-impact journals (e.g. Nature Neuroscience) and her research has been recognized by prestigious awards including the MS Society Research of the Year award and the invitation to the 64th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting for Physiology and Medicine. Yvonne is keen to share her experience with PhD students and Postdocs and is a member of the Postdoc Career Development Committee in the Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine.
