Impressionists at Home Cafe

Make the most of being at home on a Friday night and tap into your inner Impressionist!

Date(s)

Location

Time
19:30 - 21:00

You are warmly invited to take part in this ‘Impressionists at Home café’! Delivered online, this family-friendly event focuses on representations of the home in Impressionist painting. While Impressionism has been associated with the urban and outdoor world, the reality is that many Impressionists, especially women, focused on the home and on domestic space. This Café seeks to highlight this lesser-known aspect of Impressionism, through first a short talk on how female Impressionists transformed modern art via domestic space and then an interactive art class where participants create an artwork based on one of their works. Everyone is welcome, as long as you have an interest in art! Basic materials needed: paintbrush, paper and watercolours (any kind).

This event is organised by Claire Moran (Queen’s University Belfast) and is part of the Being Human Festival.  For more details click on the booking link or contact Claire Moran to find out more.
