Bouncing back: NI agri-food SMEs and their response to crises

An interactive workshop considering the impacts and outcomes of unexpected socio-economic upheaval and the resilience of NI's agri-industry

Date(s)
February 17, 2023
Location
Lecture Room 1, Riddel Hall
Time
09:00 - 12:30

With Brexit and Covid fresh in our minds and a global energy crisis on our doorsteps, this workshop offers NI agri-food firms the opportunity to share their collective experiences and discuss learnings that can be drawn from turbulent times.

The workshop will commence by presenting key findings from industry research which explored the lived experiences and crisis responses of NI agri-food firms. Next, we will welcome Michele Shirlow from Food NI, who will consider the sectors response and recovery through times of uncertainty.

This will be followed by an open industry panel who will debate topical issues facing the sector and share best practices. We will then have an interactive session facilitated by Frank Given from Close Focus, to consolidate learnings from the day.

This free event also offers a space to network with fellow businesses and attendees from supporting institutions such as Invest NI and Food NI. Lunch will be provided.

It is jointly hosted by Queen’s University Management School and Ulster University Business School. It has been funded by a British Academy/Leverhulme Small Research Grant.

Due to the ongoing construction of our new Queen’s Management School Building on Riddel Hall grounds, car parking is currently unavailable. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this causes you. Please see alternative commuting options.
