The Peer Proofreading forum is for postgraduate students to enhance their academic writing through proofreading. Students are required to bring copies of their own academic writing to facilitate their learning within a peer-based environment. The sessions are hosted by Dr Abbie Edgar (Researcher Development Consultant) and include short seminars on academic writing, followed by participants proofreading each other's work.
The forum provides an opportunity for cultural exchange and to develop a network within the postgraduate community. Participants will learn to:
- Identify errors and inconsistencies in their work
- Master the skills needed for effective academic writing
- Improve editing and proofreading skills
- Develop multidisciplinary peer networks
