Two decades since the SARC building was conceived by Professor Michael Alcorn and opened by world-renowned composer Karlheinz Stockhausen, SARC proudly celebrates the richness of work by students and staff that propelled the Centre to international acclaim, with a reputation of excellence in sound and music research.

Following the appointment of Professor Pedro Rebelo as Director, SARC has gone through significant expansion of the range of research interests, which currently involves over 70 researchers across six schools.
