Andrew was a Lecturer in Latin American History at Queen’s University Belfast from 2009-2011, where he was privileged to work with Sandra advising on her PhD thesis on Mapuche resistance in Chile. His research ranges from the religious history of indigenous and colonial Latin America to grassroots community-based violence prevention in Contemporary Central America. He is now based in the Department of History at the University of Liverpool.

Anthony was a Lecturer in Portuguese Studies at Queen's University Belfast, where his area of research interest was Lusophone Postcolonial Studies and Theory, with a particular focus on the role of East Timorese literature in resistance to colonialism and the construction of a post-colonial national identity. During his time at Queen’s, Anthony was privileged to assist Sandra in her work towards her PhD thesis. He left Queen’s in 2014 to join the Centre for Cross Border Studies where he is now its Director.

Alexandra completed a PhD at Queen's University Belfast in 2014 and durin the time of her research on women an peacebuilding she had the honor to meet Sandra and the opportunity to learn from her research on Mapuche poetry and resistance and share their experiences during the field work in Chile and Colombia. Alexandra works now at the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland as researcher.
