Welcome to the Behind the Scenes at Queen’s Event!

The event is an informal showcase of Queen’s University Belfast as an inclusive employer and one of the largest employers in Northern Ireland.

As part of the larger community of Northern Ireland we will demonstrate the variation and extent of working roles available across our campus to those that may not have thought of Queen’s as a potential employer. 

This event is open to all and all are most welcome!  We are particularly interested in increasing our representation of men in administration roles, people with a disability and those from a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic background. We are also under-represented by Protestant staff in the areas of Queen’s Sport and Childcare.  Therefore we particularly welcome individuals from a Protestant background who would be interested in finding out more about these areas of work.

The event will give a platform to the numerous employment opportunities that exist within QUB professional support, technical and operational services.

Speakers will discuss the wide variety of roles and positions that exist including:

• Clerical/administrative
• Gardening/Estates
• Hospitality
• Queen’s sport
• Nursery/creche provision
• QWork
• Queen's Academy
• Inclusive Employment Scheme

Information on the Recruitment/Selection processes, Transport, Travel and Sustainability Schemes, Wellbeing and Reward, and 

Support Funds/Leave Entitlements will also be highlighted by our professional support staff.

Members of staff from different backgrounds and various areas of the university will also contribute their experiences of coming to work at Queen’s.

As part of the event there will be an hour- long walking tour of some of QUB's more iconic buildings led by our student tour guides!
