Blogging offers researchers an opportunity to make their knowledge more widely accessible and reach audiences in the ‘real world’. Join this online blogging workshop consisting of two consecutive bite-size sessions delivered by Oxford Global Media.
The workshops will take place on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 November from 11am - 12.30pm. This training is open to all researchers, academics and other interested staff at Queen's. Please make sure that you register for both days.
The workshops aim to develop your writing skills in a lively, engaging style to ensure your research appeals to its target non-academic readership - without losing your credibility among your research peers. There will be an optional exercise at the end of session 2, for which the trainers will provide constructive feedback for each participating individual
During the workshops you will learn about:
- the benefits of blogging
- how the language and structure of blogs differ from the academic writing you have been trained to do
- different types of blogs, and
- how to get people to read your blogs and respond to them
