The full spectrum of the human condition is encountered in healthcare, which thus contains the key central elements for the production of art, with healthcare occupying a uniquely variable position between art and science. Fostering artistic and creative expression within a healthcare context allows for a holistic approach to science and health, providing an exceptional humanistic climate for artistic creation.
Collaboration of healthcare with arts/humanities augments education and practice, simultaneously providing invaluable substrate for the humanities; exemplified by humanito-centric narratives and socio-medical interactions. Immersion in arts and humanities allows for liberation and expansion of cognitive processing for healthcare practitioners, whilst facilitating a deeper appreciation of the human condition. Expanding this approach to patients has been key in improving the provision and receipt of quality healthcare, relieving suffering and improving life quality; while further fostering, supporting and cementing the uniquely privileged relationship between patients and healthcare providers
