Tiffany Thompson (Boston College): 'Belfast barricades and burnt-out homes: women navigating street violence and displacement in August 1969'

Tiffany Thompson is a PhD student in History at Boston College, working under the supervision of Prof Rob Savage. Her dissertation, 'Fleeing the Troubles: Gendering Violence, Displacement, and Migration in Northern Ireland', examines women's unique experiences of violence at the hands of police and paramilitaries, of displacement and life in refugee camps, and of the process of conflict-related migration during the Troubles. She is our QUB-BC Postgraduate Exchange student in Irish Studies for 2025.

This seminar is available both in-person and online via MS Teams.
