Title
Internationalised Justice and the Struggle against Impunity in Sri Lanka

Speakers:

Dr. Chulani Kodikara (Hilary Rodham Clinton Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Law, Queen's University, Belfast).
Dr. Nikhil Narayan (lecturer at the School of Law, Queen's University, Belfast).

More than 15 years after the end of Sri Lanka's civil war, conflict victim-survivors of state atrocities are still waiting for genuine truth and justice. In the context of the refusal and repeated failure of the Sri Lankan state to adequately address their demands, victim-survivors continue to demand an international truth and justice process.
Recognising that international law is both a site of domination and resistance, in this panel discussion, Dr Chulani Kodikara and Dr Nikhil Narayan will explore the limits and possibilities of internationalised justice for minority Tamil victim-survivors, including women family members of the disappeared, in post-war Sri Lanka.

This event will take place in-person and online on Thursday 26 September 2024 at 14:30pm in the Moot Court, School of Law, QUB (MST.02.006)
