This seminar has been designed for solicitors and barristers to consider skills lawyers have and how they can be developed and promoted. There will be a workshop on communication skills, and we will also look at the interview process, how best to prepare, how to market yourself, identify strengths and prepare a CV. The seminar will give an overview of the legal job market to include potential growth areas and salary expectations.
SPEAKERS
Claire Bain
Claire is an experienced executive coach and team facilitation specialist. She supports people to fulfil their potential – and has a track record of achieving this. Claire specialises in interview training and coaching, and has worked with clients both locally and internationally. Her approach is supportive yet challenging with a strong knowledge of competency frameworks. Claire has gained her skills, knowledge and experience from her 30 years’ experience of management and leadership across operational, consultancy and coaching roles in a wide range of organisations both public and private sector. This includes 15 years operational management experience in
GlaxoSmithKline.
Sinead Lunny
Sinéad Lunny is Managing Director of Vocalis, a Banbridge-based voice and communication skills training company. She also runs an award-winning 200-strong Speech and Drama school, is an actor, voiceover artist, host and speaker. A solicitor for many years, Sinéad’s heart was never fully in the Law. Her passion has always been the voice and she is delighted to have now found her niche providing unique, top quality corporate workshops in how to use one’s voice for maximum effect. The components required to deliver a dramatic performance are exactly the same as those required to address a group of people with confidence, deliver a presentation with gusto, present a pitch impactfully or communicate effectively as a lawyer.
Lindsey McCracken
Lindsey McCracken is an Associate Director with Hunter Savage who manages the UK & international legal recruitment division. CIPD Qualified she started her career in HR working in the public sector and consulting firms before moving to specialist recruitment over 20 years ago. The last 15 years’ she has specialised in placing solicitors across the UK and internationally and recruits solicitors from Partner to NQ level both within private practice firms and also within in-house.
We work with a broad of firms from large US law firms, Magic/Silver Circle firms, top 100 international and national law firms across Ireland, NI, England & Wales and offshore, Australia.
