Webinar: Empowering Parents: Low-Cost, Parent-Mediated Early Intervention for Autism in Countries where Applied Behavior Analysis is not officially recognized or supported
World Behaviour Analysis Day on 20 March was proclaimed to support the spread of accurate information about the benefits that can be derived from applications of the science of behaviour analysis.
To celebrate World Behaviour Analysis Day, our Centre for Behaviour Analysis (CBA) has the pleasure to welcome longstanding collaborator from Slovakia, Board Certified Behaviour Analyst Zuzanne Maštenová.
Zuzanne has been an active member of the CBA team, involved in our efforts to disseminate the science and set up behaviour analytic services in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia. We are very honoured that she will share her experiences and expertise regarding issues for countries where Applied Behavior Analysis-based interventions are not government-funded or supported by health insurance.
Our work in Czech Republic and Slovakia demonstrates the importance of low-cost parent-mediated interventions. The role parents play is pivotal in the support team and their integration into programmes is vital to support children with autism. Drawing on evidence-based approaches, parent-mediated interventions particularly focus on play-based teaching in natural environments with emphasis on supporting early social and communication skills.
