NERC has indicated that CDT and DTP calls will be released early 2024. NERC has expanded its remit and increased the number of calls for large grants funding interdisciplinary research, such as those on digital environment and monitoring (interface with data science and digital infrastructure), environmental impact and resilience, climate change adaptation and mitigation, innovative environmental monitoring. Each of these challenge areas would provide a useful basis to underpin a CDT/DTP application when the call opens.

The afternoon breakout sessions will provide a venue where researchers can discuss their expertise and outside partners to contribute to a proposal lead by Queen's, or link with other universities in the UK.
