Anne Connolly (née McCollam) is an accomplished Irish poet who has made Scotland her home. A former teacher across the UK and an independent advocate for older people in long-term care, Anne also served as Chair and Makar of the Federation of Writers Scotland in 2014.
Anne has performed at numerous festivals, including Strokestown, Féile na Bealtaine, and StAnza 2019. She reached the final of the BBC Fringe Slam, describing it as a "real yippee moment!" She believes poetry holds its own as a form of music and brings passion to her performances. Anne finds inspiration in her family and cherishes her role as a grandmother, which continues to bring her immense joy.
