Yiyun Liu is currently a Visiting Scholar at Queen’s University Belfast. Having completed a PhD in musicology at the University of Sheffield in 2023, with a thesis titled ‘Ancient Music’, Nationalism, and Handel’s English Works, 1710-1745. Following this, Yiyun Liu has continued research on Handel, with the support of Dr Sarah McCleave (QUB), whilst exploring a series of postdoctoral funding opportunities for long-term academic development. An upcoming presentation will focus on French Highlights in Handel’s Covent Garden Debut, and this study is set to be published in the Händel-Jahrbuch in 2025.
