Abstract:
This talk examines the contributions of Muslim societies to Social Sciences and Humanities research. Framed by de Sousa Santos’ (2016) concept of ‘Ecologies of Knowledges’, it emphasises the significance and standing of knowledge produced outside of mainstream hegemonic scientific paradigms, including perspectives from Africa, Asia, and South America. Utilising a combination of theoretical and scientometric insights, this seminar focuses on the contributions from Muslim societies to contemporary global academic discourse.
