To mark World Cancer Day on Tuesday 4 February Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI* and Belfast Marrow are holding a stem cell registration event to sign up potential donors to the stem cell register.
- Date(s)
- February 4, 2025
- Location
- Patrick G Johnston Centre for Cancer Research
- Time
- 10:00 - 13:00
Anyone aged between 16 and 30 and in good health can sign up. Those who cannot attend on the day can request a swab kit by post from anthonynolan.org/BelfastMarrow or by contacting info@llni.co.uk for more information.
For people with blood cancer or a blood disorder, a stem cell transplant from a matching stranger may be their only hope of survival. So the more potential lifesavers that can be signed up to the stem cell register, the better. The process is quick, free, and easy, and it might just save a life.
* Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI is a local charity funding blood cancer research taking place in the Patrick G Johnston Centre for Cancer Research at Queen's University Belfast.
