Research Culture Celebration
The postgraduate research carried out at QUB is some of the most diverse in the world, encompassing an array of specialities and topics. The ninth-oldest university in the UK, Queen’s has a proud history of conducting innovative, impactful, and world-leading research, changing people’s lives for the better.
Each June, we shine a spotlight on QUB research with our month-long 'Research Culture Celebration' here at the Thomas J Moran Graduate School. This is a programme of events and workshops that align to the work and development needs of today's researchers, whether you're a current PhD student or a Masters student aspiring to progress to PhD. Our Research Culture Celebration talks and workshops are delivered by researcher development experts, industry consultants, and senior academics from QUB and further afield.
An annual highlight of the programme is the Queen's final of the Vitae 3 Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition, which will be held on Thursday 12 June 2025. If your School runs a 3MT® competition internally earlier in the academic year, don't forget to apply to our overall Queen's Final at the Graduate School! There are monetary prizes and plaques awarded to the winners and the overall winner goes on to compete in the prestigious Vitae 3MT® UK Final.
Check back with us after the Easter break for updates on how the Thomas J Moran Graduate School will celebrate Research Culture at Queen's through June 2025 and how to apply for 3MT®.
