On graduation day
Returning Your Academic Costume
All academic costumes must be returned on the day of your Ceremony. 2pm return for morning ceremonies and 6pm return for afternoon ceremonies.
Where to return your gown
They must be returned to the Gown Store, South Dining Hall.
This is building next to Whitla Hall (where you collected your costume). Please ensure when returning your costume that the label is still attached.
Fines
All academic costume must be returned on the day of your Ceremony or you risk incurring a fine. Collection and return times can be found on your Graduation Reference page.
Failure to return your academic costume on time will result in a £150 fine which will be uniformly enforced.
A damaged, failed or stained return will result in the following charges:
- PhD costume - £600
- Masters costume - £400
- Bachelor costume - £300
