The Study Abroad tuition fee rates for classroom-based courses are as follows (based on exchange rates w/c 25 November 2024):

Students enrolling on courses in Science and Engineering, or through collaborative agreements, may be liable to pay a different fee.

Single semester students are required to pay the full amount on arrival, before completing registration. 

FINANCIAL AID

The Financial Aid Office at your home university will need to liaise with the Study Abroad Office at Queen's for confirmation of the costs of the Study Abroad programme (email studyabroad@qub.ac.uk).

The University does not offer scholarships to Study Abroad students. However, Queen’s University is recognised by the US Department of Education as a participant in the Federal Direct Loan Program. Under US Department of Education regulations, loans for Study Abroad students must continue to be processed by the home university, so you should contact the Financial Aid Office at your home university for further guidance. The Financial Aid Office at your home university will need to liaise with the Global Opportunities Team at Queen's for confirmation of the costs of the Study Abroad programme (email studyabroad@qub.ac.uk).

Queen's Loyalty Scholarship: 20% tuition fee reduction for Year 1 for Exchange and Study Abroad students returning to study on a full-time undergraduate programme at Queen's University Belfast.  Search Funding and Scholarships

Queen's Family Scholarship: 20% tuition fee reduction for Year 1 for children, sisters and brothers of Queen’s alumni and current students beginning a full duration course at Queen’s University Belfast.  Search Funding and Scholarships

Students from USA: The Gilman Program provides grants for undergraduate U.S. citizens of limited financial means to study and intern abroad.

 

COST OF LIVING

Northern Ireland is recognised by the British Council as having the lowest cost of living in the UK.  We estimate, as a guide, that Study Abroad students should allow approximately £5,850 to cover your personal expenses for one semester (in addition to tuition fees).
