Programme Overview

The Video & Podcasting Summer School will introduce participants to a range of creative methods for video and podcast production that will allow them to produce their own content for a platform of their choice. This includes concept development, research and scripting, through to recording video and audio with a variety of camera and microphone setups, the post-production stages of editing in specialised software and finally publishing online.

2025 Video & Podcasting Programme
Intended Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Video & Podcasting programme, students will be able to:

  • Identify key forms and genres in the contemporary video and podcasting media landscape.
  • Develop and pitch a concept for media production following professional standards.
  • Research, script and conduct interviews for video and/or podcasting formats.
  • Record video in a number of styles (piece-to-camera, interview, b-roll, etc.) considering aspects such as framing, lighting, etc.
  • Record audio using a number of microphone setups, considering aspects such as room acoustics, mic positioning, levels, etc.
  • Use video and audio editing software to carry out post-production work.
  • Constructively critique your work and the work of others.
  • Collaborate with others on the creation of a creative video or podcasting project.
