Dr Hargy is a scholar of contemporary American politics; writing and commenting extensively on US elections and President Donald Trump.
He has expertise on diplomacy, post-conflict transformation, security studies, and American politics.
His work is widely published, with an upcoming paper in the Journal of Transatlantic Studies, and a forthcoming book with Manchester University Press, entitled, U.S. Diplomacy and the Good Friday Agreement in Post-Conflict Northern Ireland (2025).
