There is a growing need to provide the world’s population with a safe and sustainable supply of high quality food.
The Institute for Global Food Security (IGFS) is a key partner in leading national and global efforts in this area. The educational programmes offered by IGFS and the School of Biological Sciences seeks to develop leaders for the future in agriculture and food science who can develop new and cross cutting areas of research that will have major and positive impacts on ensuring a secure supply of high quality food for the world’s population.
The MSc Global Food Security (Food Safety) Distance Learning (DL) programme is a novel course tailored to students who aim to, or currently, work within the agri-food industry and related sectors. It is delivered by research active scientists within IGFS at Queen's University Belfast with a major focus on new and emerging issues within the diverse field of food safety, authenticity and security.
