This conference explores the dangerous and complex world of online extremism and misinformation by showcasing current research in these areas and the implications with respect to how we approach their study moving forward.
The conference builds on work currently being carried out by an international team which includes Dr Stephen Herron, (Mitchell Institute, QUB) alongside Dr Weeda Mehran (University of Exeter) and Dr Ben Miller (University of Emory), who are undertaking ground breaking research on Islamic Jihadist and Far Right Extremism.
With speakers from a variety of fields ranging from academia to policy this is an event which will examine the complexities involved in researching online extremism and misinformation as well as showcasing current research in these areas.
The event, which will also include the opportunity for discussion amongst participants and conference attendees, will be of interest to individuals and groups from a variety of sectors including those in academia, policy, think tanks and practitioners.
