With a focus on Northern Ireland, Israel-Palestine and the War on Terror, this conference examines the individual and collective impact of arrest, detention and imprisonment policies in protracted conflicts. Further, it explores how detainees have used hunger strikes and other forms of collective action to challenge state policies and alter conflict dynamics.
Speakers will include practitioners, activists, lawyers, academics and ex-detainees. The event will consist of three panels with discussion, followed by a reception. The event is free and open to all.
