Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships

 

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral fellowships target researchers holding a PhD who wish to carry out their research activities abroad, acquire new skills and develop their careers. The fellowship helps researchers gain experience in other countries, disciplines and non-academic sectors.

How to apply with us

Explore the list of supervisors who would like to host a fellow.  Please directly email the supervisor you are interested in working with, enclosing your CV and providing a short abstract of your proposed project (including background to the project, objectives and approach).

Once it is agreed that the application will proceed, our team will schedule a call to discuss your application and agree a timeline for the preparation of your application.  Our team will assist you and your chosen Queen’s host by providing guidance and review throughout the preparation of your application.

Deadline for contact with a host is 30th April 2025.

  • What is a Marie S. Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship?

    An experienced researcher (Fellow), of any nationality, develops a research project with a new supervisor based in Europe (host). The Fellow comes from any country in the world or moves within Europe. Moving country is compulsory. The application will address the fellow's training and career needs, including training on transferable skills, planning for publications and participation in conferences. Placements or secondments in non-academic environments is strongly encouraged.

    The application is prepared by the fellow and supervisor who offers appropriate mentoring and support. Regular exchanges between the supervisor and the fellow are the backbone of a competitive application.

    Indicative 2025 timeline:

    • 9 April 2025: Launch of the call for proposals
    • 10 September 2025: Deadline for submitting proposals
    • February 2026: Notification of call results to applicants
    • April 2026: Grant agreement signature for successful projects
    • April 2026: First EU-funded projects start

  • Eligibility

    To be eligible for a Marie S. Curie Postdoctoral fellowship, the fellow must:

    • have an excellent CV
    • have a PhD and a maximum of 8 years full-time research experience
    • For European Fellowship: You must not have lived or worked in the UK for more than 12 months within the three-year period, prior to the closing date of the application.

    The European Fellowship offers 12-24 months full-time research funding covering:
